This proprietary selective medium, which contains the substrate, lecithin, differentiates L. monocytogenes and L. ivanovii from other Listeria species. Oxoid Ltd, Basingstoke, England, provides it as a dehydrated basal medium and a lecithin supplement with a selective antibiotic supplement.
