BAM Media M60: Heart Infusion (HI) Broth and Agar (HIA) (for Vibrio)

Beef heart, infusion from 500 g	1 liter
Tryptose	10 g
NaCl	5 g

Dissolve ingredients and dispense into tubes.

For halophilic Vibrio spp. add an extra 15 g NaCl per liter.

Autoclave 15 min at 121°C. Final pH, 7.4 ± 0.2.

For heart infusion agar, add 15 g agar/liter and boil to dissolve before dispensing and sterilizing.
