BAM Media M53: Esculin Agar, Modified (CDC)

Infusion agar 40 g
Esculin 1 g
Ferric citrate 0.5 g
Distilled water 1 liter

Heat with agitation to dissolve agar. Cool to 55°C. Adjust pH to 7.0 ± 0.2. Dispense 4 ml portions to 13 × 100 mm tubes. Autoclave 15 min at 121°C. Slant tubes.
