Prepare Sorbitol-MacConkey Agar (M-139) as directed. Once SMAC has been autoclaved and tempered, then add the 2 filter-sterilized additives below to obtain the final concentrations shown.

Potassium tellurite 2.5mg/L (250 µL of 1% solution)*
Cefixime 0.05 mg/L (1mL of 50 mg/L solution in 95% EtOH)

*Note: For 1% Potassium tellurite, store at 4° C for 1 month.

  For Cefixime, store at -20° C for 1 year.
