Proteose peptone	7 g
NaCl	5 g
Dextrose	5 g
Distilled water	1 liter

Dissolve ingredients in water and adjust pH if necessary. Dispense 5 ml portions into 20 × 150 mm tubes. Autoclave 10 min at 121°C. Final pH, 6.5 ± 0.2.
