BAM Media M130: Purple Carbohydrate Fermentation Broth Base

Proteose peptone No. 3 10 g
Beef extract 1 g
NaCl 5 g
Bromcresol purple 0.02 g
Distilled water 1 liter

Prepare as for phenol red carbohydrate broth (M121).

Final pH, 6.8 ± 0.2.

For use with halophilic Vibrio spp., add NaCl to a final concentration of 2-3%.
