For slants, prepare nutrient agar and dispense 6.5 ml portions into 16 × 125 mm screw-cap tubes. Autoclave 15 min at 121°C. Slant tubes until medium solidifies. For plates, dispense 100-500 ml portions into bottles or flasks and autoclave. Cool to 50°C and dispense 18-20 ml into sterile 15 × 100 mm petri dishes. Dry plates for 24-48 h at room temperature before use.
