Foreign Supplier Verification Programs - Importer List

Per section 805(g) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act titled, “Publication of List of Participants”, a list of Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) importers must be posted on the internet. “The Secretary shall publish and maintain on the Internet Web site of the Food and Drug Administration a current list that includes the name of, location of, and other information deemed necessary by the Secretary about, importers participating under this section.” 21 USC § 384a(g).

Unless exempt from the FSVP regulation, information related to the identification of the importer must be provided for each line of food when filing an electronic entry with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) prior to importing or offering a food for import. Importer identification includes the importer’s name, electronic mail (email) address, and Unique Facility Identifier (UFI) recognized as acceptable by FDA.
