The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is publishing a final guidance entitled ``Final Guidance on Industry-Supported Scientific and Educational Activities'' (hereinafter referred to as the final guidance). The agency sought public comment on a draft version of this final guidance entitled ``Draft Policy Statement on Industry-Supported Scientific and Educational Activities'' (hereinafter referred to as the draft policy statement), which was published in the Federal Register on November 27, 1992; and on November 18, 1994, on a related citizen petition. The agency considered the comments received and, where appropriate, revised the draft policy statement to create the final guidance. The final guidance describes how industry may support scientific and educational activities without being subject to regulation under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the act). The full text of the guidance is published in this document.
