Technical Surveillance Specialists (TSS)

Technical Surveillance Specialists (TSS) oversee the use of various types of equipment to aid in the covert collection of evidence and intelligence for use in criminal investigations, while ensuring that use of such measures is in line with applicable laws and rules of evidence collection.

  • Working with the Special Agents: TSS work alongside special agents to install and operate surveillance equipment to gather evidence needed for criminal investigations.
  • Serving Subject Matter Experts: TSS use their expertise to assist with issues related to technical surveillance and use of systems related to the gathering of technical records and information.
  • Implementing Surveillance Systems: TSS design and deploy covert surveillance systems and oversee their operation to ensure maximum effectiveness.
