Background:
In 2025, an estimated 69,120 new cases of endometrial cancer will be diagnosed in the United States, with approximately 13,860 deaths expected. Endometrial cancer has become both the most common and the deadliest gynecologic malignancy. Endometrial cancer is also the cancer with the greatest annual increase in death rates among women. Despite rising incidence and mortality rates, new drug development has progressed slowly and for decades, patients faced a devastating treatment desert. After the first drug, a hormonal therapy, was approved in 1971, patients waited 48 years for the next breakthrough. While we've seen promising immunotherapy advances since 2019, too many patients still face limited options when these treatments fail.
Join us for an engaging discussion that will bring together key stakeholders, including representatives from the patient advocacy community, academia, and community oncology to discuss the historical path that has led us to the current treatment landscape, the trends in the numbers of new cases and deaths, areas of ongoing high impact research, and what the future might bring.
