What We Do
The Office of Industry and Consumer Education (OICE) answers questions through our contact center, by phone and email, from the medical device industry and consumers of medical devices and radiation-emitting electronic products. In addition, OICE develops educational resources to help the public understand the FDA's regulations and policies.

If you have a question about a medical device topic, please contact us. We generally respond to emails within 48 hours, excluding weekends and holidays.
Mission Statement
To educate the public with understandable and accessible science-based regulatory information about medical devices and radiation-emitting electronic products.
Our public includes the medical device industry, consumers, patients, health care providers, FDA staff, and other Federal, State, and local government agencies.
To achieve our mission, we stay current on regulatory issues and new scientific advances, anticipate public needs and ensure that the information we disseminate is accurate, timely, and appropriately targeted for each audience.
