FDA - SENASICA Mexico, MOU Extension 3 Concerning the Entry of Mexican Cantaloupe into the U.S.
EXTENSION OF MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND SERVICIO NACIONAL DE SANIDAD, INOCUIDAD Y CALIDAD AGROALIMENTARIA OF THE UNITED MEXICAN STATES CONCERNING ENTRY OF MEXICAN CANTALOUPES INTO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Whereas the United States Food and Drug Administration and the Servicio Nacional de Sanidad, Inocuidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria (collectively, the Participants) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding Concerning Entry of Mexican Cantaloupes into the United States of America signed on October 26, 2005 (the MOU); and
Whereas the activities under the MOU were to continue for a period of five years which the five year period ended on the 26th of October, 2010; and
Whereas the activities under the MOU were extended for a one year period which the one year period will end on the 28th of October, 2011; and
Whereas the activities under the MOU were extended for a period of six months period will end on the 28th of April, 2012; and Whereas the Participants desire to extend the cooperative work under the MOU in promoting the safety of public health and to ensure the safety of cantaloupes exported to the United States of America from the United Mexican States;
The Participants hereby consent to extend the MOU for a period of 75 days from the last date of signature of this document.
