Release of Interagency Food Safety Analytics Collaboration (IFSAC) Webinar Materials

Constituent Update

What's New

January 26, 2018

The Interagency Food Safety Analytics Collaboration (IFSAC) has released materials from a webinar held on December 15, 2017 about a report on Foodborne Illness Source Attribution Estimates for 2013. The webinar materials, including the presentation slides, transcript and a link to the recording of the webinar are now available on CDC's IFSAC events page.

IFSAC was created in 2011 by three federal agencies—the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)—to improve coordination of federal food safety analytic efforts and address cross-cutting priorities for food safety data collection, analysis, and use. Its projects and studies aim to identify foods that are important sources of human illness. IFSAC focuses analytic efforts on four priority pathogens: Salmonella, Escherichia coli (E. coli) O157:H7, Listeria monocytogenes (Lm), and Campylobacter. By bringing together data from CDC, FDA, and FSIS, and by developing sound analytical methods, IFSAC scientists can improve estimates of the sources of foodborne illness.

IFSAC Webinar on Updated Foodborne Illness Source Attribution Estimates

December 1, 2017

The Interagency Food Safety Analytics Collaboration (IFSAC) is hosting a webinar to discuss its latest report on updated foodborne illness source attribution estimates using outbreak data for 2013 for Salmonella, Escherichia coli O157, Listeria monocytogenes, and Campylobacter. During the webinar, experts will share results from the report and discuss IFSAC’s approach to analyzing outbreak data to estimate which foods are responsible for foodborne illnesses related to specific pathogens.

Date: Friday, December 15, 2017, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm (Eastern Time).

Registration: https://ifsac-2017-december.eventbrite.com

Attendees who previously registered for the original October 20th webinar will need to re-register to attend the rescheduled December 15th webinar.

Participants are encouraged to register for the webinar by Wednesday, December 13, 2017, as space is limited. Registered participants will receive a confirmation email with the agenda and detailed instructions for accessing the webinar. A recording and transcript will be posted to IFSAC's events page in the weeks following the event.

IFSAC is a collaboration between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS), and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The collaboration works to improve coordination of federal food safety analytic efforts and to address cross-cutting priorities for food safety data collection, analysis, and use. Projects and studies aim to identify foods that are important sources of illnesses.
