CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: 2021 National Food Safety Education Conference

The Partnership for Food Safety Education (the Partnership) is accepting abstracts for the 2021 national consumer food safety education conference titled Now You Have My Attention: Hand Hygiene and Food Safety Education for Everyone. The 8th national conference, scheduled for March 9-12, 2021, will be virtual. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) are cosponsors of the conference.

The deadline for abstract submission is October 14, 2020. The Partnership is accepting abstracts relating to two principal themes:

  • Cutting Through Clutter: What’s working to engage consumers? This category focuses on fresh, new and effective ways to advance safe food handling awareness and behavior.
  • Safe Food Handling in Today’s Food Landscape: How does today’s food landscape affect consumer food safety and awareness of risk? This category concerns food safety education in the context of the COVID 19 pandemic and other emerging food and consumer trends and issues.

Posters on Food Safety Education Program Successes are also welcome.

The Partnership, which is comprised of 41 organizations representing public health officials, food experts, consumers and the food industry, in cooperation with the FDA, CDC and USDA, has been developing food safety education program and material for more than 20 years.
