The purity specifications for manufacture of food ingredients and methods for detecting these ingredients in food can be found in the following documents.
- Methods incorporated by reference in the food additive regulations for determining compliance with listed specifications are available from the Office of Food Additive Safety.
- Specification monographs from the Food Chemicals Codex are incorporated by reference in many of the food additive regulations.
