Public Notification: Salute Capsules contain hidden drug ingredients
[3-17-2016] The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising consumers not to purchase or use Salute Capsules, a product promoted and sold for sexual enhancement on various websites and possibly in some retail stores.
FDA laboratory analysis confirmed that Salute Capsules contain sildenafil, thiosildenafil, and sulfoaildenafil. Sildenafil is the active ingredient in the FDA-approved prescription drug Viagra, used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). Thiosildenafil and sulfoaildenafil are substances structurally similar to sildenafil. These undeclared ingredients may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs, such as nitroglycerin, and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates.
