Cytochrome P450 2C9

  • Absent in 1% Caucasians and African-Americans

  • Primary metabolism of:
    • Most NSAIDs (including COX-2)

    • S-warfarin (the active form)

    • Phenytoin

  • Inhibited by:
    • Fluconazole
