Swedish Match USA, Inc.’s Renewal MRTP Applications for General Snus Products: Materials Reposted, Comment Deadline Extended

On July 3, 2024, FDA reposted two application documents related to the renewal of existing modified risk tobacco product (MRTP) orders for Swedish Match USA, Inc.’s General Snus products. These reposted documents contain information that was previously redacted, and they are available on the Swedish Match MRTP application webpage.

Additionally, FDA is extending the comment period on Swedish Match USA, Inc.’s MRTP renewal application to provide time for the public to review these application materials that were recently reposted. The public may submit comments on the application to docket FDA-2014-N-1051 on regulations.gov. FDA will announce the closing date for the comment period when it is available.

The application materials, redacted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, can be found on FDA’s website as indicated above. Before making a final determination on an MRTP application, FDA takes into consideration all information available to the agency, including public comments and recommendations from the Tobacco Products Scientific Advisory Committee (TPSAC).
