MQSA Inspection Billing Invoice Process

As of April 22, 2021, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) User Fee Program sends electronic inspection fee invoices by email to mammography facilities after their annual inspection. Facilities can pay the inspection fee online; however, only full payments will be accepted.

The FDA's preferred payment method is online using an electronic check or Automated Clearing House (ACH). Credit Card payments (Discover, VISA, MasterCard, or American Express) are accepted for amounts less than $25,000. For more details on where to make online payments, alternative methods of payment, governmental entity status, and nonpayment of the inspection fee, please see your MQSA Facility Invoice.

MQSA inspectors will collect and confirm your facility's billing contact email address during your annual inspection to ensure your invoice is sent to the correct address.

Facilities with questions regarding facility invoice payments must contact MQSAUserFeeSupport@fda.hhs.gov.

If you do not receive an invoice for the inspection fee within 30 days of the inspection date, contact MQSAUserFeeSupport@fda.hhs.gov. Failure to pay the inspection fee invoice in a timely manner could result in additional charges for the facility, including late fees and accrued interest.

For inspection-related questions, not related to billing, contact the MQSA Facility Hotline at 1-800-838-7715, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. EST.
