ASCPT 2019 QSP Preconference: Advancing QSP toward Predictive Drug Development: From Targets to Treatment

I. BACKGROUND

The FDA, ASCPT, ISOP and the IQ Consortium have expressed a willingness to leverage their combined strengths for the joint development of the substantive actions of this pre -conference to raise awareness amongst scientists and decision-makers in academia, the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, and regulatory/funding agencies.

Goals and Objectives

  • To provide a forum for open discussion on 1) potential value of QSP in drug discovery, development, and review, 2) perceived issues with a QSP approach; and 3) roadblocks to more general adoption and acceptance of QSP.
  • Recognize challenges and opportunities for QSP in regulatory discussion and interactions
  • Bridge the “acceptance” gap for QSP by improving communication and education of stakeholders across different scientific and business functions. There will be presentations and panel discussions including a diverse array of stakeholders committed to improving drug discovery, development, and review.

Who Should Attend

This ASCPT 2019 QSP Preconference: Advancing QSP toward Predictive Drug Development: From Targets to Treatments is intended for a diverse group of scientists from academia, industry, consulting, and regulatory agencies committed to improving drug discovery, development, and review who can benefit from an understanding of the latest QSP approaches and initiatives.
