This list is up-to-date. There are 41 e-cigarettes authorized by the FDA. These are the only e-cigarettes that may be lawfully sold in the United States. On 12/20/25, FDA experienced a related web error that did not change this list but was corrected the same day.

While these products are authorized to be sold in the United States, it does not mean these products are safe, nor are they “FDA approved.” All tobacco products are harmful and potentially addictive. Those who do not use tobacco products shouldn’t start.

In general:

  • FDA intends to update www.fda.gov/authorizedecigs with new products the day of an e-cigarette authorization. This is the first place any new authorized e-cigarettes will be listed.
  • FDA’s Searchable Tobacco Products Database is the most comprehensive listing of tobacco products that can be legally sold. FDA intends to add newly authorized e-cigarettes the day after an authorization.
  • The downloadable flyer version of the authorized e-cigarettes list will be updated as expediently as possible, typically within 1-2 business days.
