ORA on the Frontlines: Kendra Vieira

Kendra Vieira

I review and evaluate evidence to determine compliance of FDA-regulated products imported into the United States. I remain informed on scientific updates and new regulations as FDA improves protections for the public from fraudulent or unsafe products. 

During this pandemic, I volunteered as a member of a Community-Based Testing Task Force and served as a safety officer for a drive-thru COVID-19 testing site, assisting site volunteers with PPE donning and doffing requirements, decontamination procedures, and collaborating on solutions to additional site safety and environmental concerns. My expertise in environmental safety and desire to serve the public motivated me to volunteer to help people through these difficult times. Experiencing this pandemic shows us that constant vigilance and pre-emptive action are the cornerstones of public health. We recognize the importance of working together for the good of the whole community.
