How to Apply

Application Deadlines

Professionals

  • Applications are accepted year-round and should be submitted at least 3 months prior to the desired starting date.

Students

  • Summer Interns 2010 – Applications will be accepted from October 1, 2009 to Feb. 1, 2010. Selected candidates will be notified by May, 2010. Candidates for summer internships must be enrolled in an undergraduate program (as a junior or senior) or a graduate program to which they will be returning after the summer internship program. Proof of enrollment or a letter of good standing from the university will be required. Students also must submit a transcript or academic summary at the time of application.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
  • Co-op and internship candidates must be enrolled in a university or college at the junior level or higher, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
  • Co-op students must be enrolled in a formal university cooperative program.

How to Apply

To apply to the MDFP, please complete our online application form.

Additionally, you must send an email with the following documents attached:

  • resume
  • letter of interest, describing your level of interest in the medical device field
  • for students - academic transcript and proof of enrollment in the Fall.

Please note that this form will only be accepted if it is submitted correctly and completely. It may not be saved to be completed at a later time. Please follow the instructions provided and send the requested documents together in one email.

  • Relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated skill
  • Ability to collaborate and work with others
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to handle deadline pressure

The Office of Personnel Management is authorized to rate applicants for Federal jobs under sections 1302, 3301 and 3304 of title 5 of the U.S. Code. Section 1104 of title 5 allows the Office of Personnel Management to authorize other Federal agencies to rate applicants for Federal jobs. We require the information that you include on this form and associated documentation to see how well your education and experience qualify you for a position at the Center for Devices and Radiological Health through the Medical Device Fellowship Program. We also require information regarding citizenship to determine whether you are affected by laws that we must follow in deciding who may be employed by the Federal government. US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident status are required.
Information that we collect about you may be give to Federal, State and local agencies for checking on legal violations or for other lawful purposes. We may send your name and address to state and local government agencies, congressional and other public offices and public international organizations, if they request names of people to consider for employment. We may also notify your school placement office if you are selected for a Federal job. Providing us with your personal information is voluntary.
