Q1: How did your career begin at FDA?
Paul Buckman: I started my career at FDA in 2010 after spending time at various digital media companies in the private sector---namely the Microsoft/NBC News joint venture MSNBC.com and Scripps Networks Interactive. Prior to that, I was an Audio-Visual Production Specialist in the U.S. Army with assignments at Ft. Irwin, CA., Tripler Army Medical Center and Ft. Shafter, HI. I'm a graduate of Chaminade University of Honolulu, University of Louisville and Syracuse University. I've been the Director of the Division of Digital and Online Communications my entire career at FDA

PB: The people and the mission!
Q3: What are you most proud of in terms of your work at FDA?
PB: We play an active role in providing timely and critical health information to the American public.
Q4: What advice would you give to an FDA job seeker?
PB: Get to know your colleagues at FDA -- even outside of your immediate work area.
Q5: When you're not at work, what is your favorite way to unwind?
PB: My favorite ways to unwind are hiking and kayaking in the local state parks where I live.
