Issue Areas/Comments
I am a board certified anesthesiologist who now practices pain medicine full time but spent 14 years practicing anesthesiology in various settings. The administration of potent hypnotic agents such as propofol requires airway management skills and an understanding of the pharmacokinetics/dynamics of the specific agent. These are attributes learned during training in anesthesiology residency. People not trained in such areas pose a danger to patients if administering these medications to patients. I would not want my mother in the hands of such an individual.
