Issue Areas/Comments
The FDA must protect US citizens from false, misleading or unproven statements being promoted as true to sell drugs. For example, this "chemical imbalance" theory that is used as a basis for prescribing psychiatric drugs is bunk, completely unproven and unprovable with existing technology, yet I know people who have put their kids on these Ritalin/Prozac types of drugs because some doctor or psychiatrist told them the child had a chemical imbalance. This is just criminal and these types of drugs that are not fully understood must not be allowed to be promoted via our mass media to people who will believe this bunk without question and then get someone to prescibe these drugs with possible detrimental effects. Moreover, any drugs with black box labels must CLEARLY have those warnings promoted in ANY advertising they do. Lets have the FDA protect the consumer, not the drug companies.
