Dear Representative,

I am writing as I do have a concern about the amount of Drug Ads on Radio and
TV. My wife and I stopped watching TV two years ago as it was just one ad after
another, to me it is interesting that that much money is spent to create a
market, if these medications are so great then why do they have to be promoted
so much. What is fascinating is that the high price of medication is such an issue in this country and if the drug companies cut their budgets in advertising
they should be able to lower the price of their products. Another point
is when you see a drug advertised in a magazine it is interesting to me the drug companies have to buy two pages as the second page is covering all of the side effects from the product the first page is promoting. This is an issue that I have not seen anyone address and a question that should be answered. Are the drugs causing more physical and mental problems from the side effects then they are supposed to help? Are there any statistics on the actual cure rates? Or, is the drugging of America just an experiment gone very, very bad. Why is it being allowed to continue to be promoted on the airways as something we all need, like a new car, clothes or food. The side effects of many drugs marketed in America today seem to be causing at least simular or worse side effect that cigarettes and alcohol. They were both banned from the airways and media. So, my vote is ban all drug advertising from all media including the internet.
