Food labels are difficult to read. Having then labeled as gluten free would make choosing appropriate foods much safer and simpler. Right now, we eliminate a lot of foods from our grocery cart because we cannot determine what is in "artifical flavors" and "caramel coloring" listed on the label. Simply stating "gluten free" or "contains gluten" will make our choices easier and safer.
