If the FDA can't control the pharmaceutical companies and their improperly researched drugs that lack oversight, why does this broken agency feel compelled to regulate food supplements? It's staffed by representatives of the drug companies who make substances with multiple, dangerous side- effects. They have been refining food products for active ingreditients and making solutions that don't fix the cause but only mask the symptom. Only whole food can heal. Doctors can't heal. Hospitals can't heal. Even the victims can't always heal without whole food, supplements, pro- biotics, and enzymes. Whole food supplements can't be reproduced in labratories. Only nature can produce live-food therapies and the whole ingredients that make up the herbs, vitamins, and minerals we use. No allergies. No side-effects. Makes one go hmmmm.... Which is better? Let's wake up and follow the Europeans who have integrated medicine and there's no bias about dietary supplements - I believe they are a healthier lot than Americans. Our HMOs, PPOs, and the like are crashing from their financial blunders of managing health care with accountants. Now you want to let the drug company employees that go to work for the FDA after lucrative pharmaceutical carreers. Where do these uninformed people come from to judge food products and dietary supplements - from drug biased beginnings that have bogged us down in archaic medical practices of cut, burn, and poison for the last 125 years. Let's move ahead and leave these ailing giants behind. They've very little to offer but high prices for marginal products that fail to even remedy the symptoms and have no access to the cause in the vast majority of cases. It's 'cause-effect' that scientist use - not 'effect-cause' as the standard order of priority. Treat the cause with whole foods and it'll work everytime as long as the practitioner gets the person before the medicos waste all their precious time promising recovery with chemicals that don't work - even as advertised. Chase the mad-cow crisis, the e-coli outbreaks, and monitor food production companies more closely. Don't try to setback the complementary and alternative therapy process back by a hundred years by outlawing our healing foods that haven't received FDA review. Our species can't take too many more hits from outside disease and ill-health. Leave our access to dietary supplements alone from federal regulation. Food is food and how we eat it is our constitutional right to choose. Don't tread on our right to eat what's our heart's desire.
