I am writing to request that Aspartame not be allowed to be a hidden ingredient in any foods, to include ice cream/yogurt. This atificial sweetner is one that many people are allergic to. It has caused increases in Cancers and birth defects. It is an established fact that women consuming this product while they are pregnant stand a very high risk of their unborn child having neurological damages. These children in turn are not able to become productive members of society as they are handicapped. It is unfair to put into law for someone to do harm to themselves or their unborn child, especially without thier pior knowledge. All ingredients should be listed on an item someone is consuming to ensure they know what it is they are eating. I furthermore feel that anything with aspartame should also carry a label warning on it as cigarettes do to notify consumers of the posible damage to thier health that use/consumption of it will cause.
