Issue Areas/Comments
Over the years the FDA has approved many different kinds of products, especially medications, without adequate testing. The point being that now after years of use of many of these products, there is lawsuit after lawsuit over all the health damage that has been done to people from the long- term affects of these "FDA Approved" products. The FDA has not tested the results of long-term ingestion of clone-based animal products... Nor do they have the ability to. It would take years and years of human testing and trials to really be certain of the safety... There are way too many health problems and issues currently from products that the FDA deemed safe for human use... only to find now that they are not safe. If they are going to approve this idea as safe (and they have been wrong many times before) then we, the consumers, should have the right to know if the meat we are buying is from cloned animals... so that we have a choice... so that we can purchase meat that has not been from cloned animals and protect our health from futher contamination from FDA approved products. If we are not going to be given that choice then the only other choice for people who want to be certain that they are not getting cloned meat products is to go to a totally organic and vegan diet and turn their backs on the dairy and meat producing industries all together.
