The comment in the Draft for industry sounds to me like you won't require labeling of cloned animal products as such. If that's the case I strongly object, I have a right to make an informed decision and would be unable to do so in that case. The FDA as a governmental department should be required to watch out for my rights and make industry give full disclosure, especially if what I heard is true and that genetically modified feed is at least partially responsible for Mad Cow Disease. You may say that tests show cloned meat is as safe as conventionally bred animals but tests have been proved fallible before. The draft also says that cloned products will be too rare to be eaten but that will change as costs come down. I also see this as the next possible step to making cloning commonplace and possibly approving it for humans in the future and I am vehemently opposed to that.
