Issue Areas/Comments
I believe that cloned meats are a hazard to humans. The long term effect on humans is unknown, and may cause disease. At the very least, I believe that cloned meats should be clearly marked so the consumer can make an informed choice with regard to the meats they consume. The only purpose, in my opinion, of allowing cloned meat is to improve profits for the big meat industry. The FDA, in this case, is not protecting the consumer, but instead, is protecting the industries that it is inappropriately connected with. Meat from cloned animals is no benefit to humans. Meat from cloned animals only benefits the beef/meat industry and the FDA officials who inappropriately gain financially or otherwise from allowing the unmarked sale of cloned meats.
