Issue Areas/Comments
Cloning is a tremendously inefficient and cruel way to produce animals for food. It also has NOT been studied sufficiently to ensure the safety of the end product for human consumption. The first reason is sufficient to determine that the risk is too great to proceed -- particularly since independent research has shown that increased consumption of meat and milk is bad not only for human health but also for the health of the planet. The second reason is also sufficient to halt proceedings in this field. Personally, I will NEVER buy products of any kind from a cloned animal, nor will anyone in my family. The American people do not support this method of food production, and neither should you. The FDA is supposed to protect the American people from questionable and unsafe food and drug sources. Do that by refusing to approve the sale of meat and milk from cloned animals.
