I DON'T LIKE IT!! If you plan on allowing genetically engineered food onto our grocery shelves then at least require manufacturers to label it as such. Allow consumers to make the choice for themselves. I simply don't trust an agency that hasn't outlawed Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormones when practically all other developed nations have! Furthermore, your track record of capitulating to corporate interests make me even more nervous about genetically engineered meat. If simply for the sake of improving your image in the minds of the US consumer, I would ban genetically engineered meats. Or else, perhaps a very public, long term test (over a decade) where the proponents of allowing genetically modified foods (and their families) eat nothing but and show no negative side effects would be enough to convince the public. In the meantime, no to genetically modified foods!!!
