| Hello: I saw on the news that the FDA wants to permit the use of cloned animals as food without labeling them to identify them as such. This has to be stopped now, before they pass this. I will not eat or drink anything that comes from a cloned animal, no matter how safe the FDA says it might be. If they want to allow cloned animals for food, have them marked as being cloned. I have spoken to many people in person and on- line that are totally against the use of cloned animals for food also. If this is passed to use cloned animals as food and milk, without being marked as such, a movement will be started to boycott all meat products on the market. Let the stores and meat packers get stuck with their inventory of all their meats, cloned or otherwise. If we can't tell the difference when purchasing these products, we will just not buy any of these products, including milk. I see no reason to produce cloned animals anyway. Let them breed naturally as they have in the past.
Please tell the FDA NOT to allow cloned animals to be used for food purposes without being marked as such. This letter has been sent to President Bush, and my State Representatives in Congress and the Senate. Thank you for your time./
