I am livid upon hearing of the FDA "decision" to not require labeling of cloned foods. This is absolutely ludicrous and makes one believe that money has been exchanged for this arrangement to be instituted. How else can you explain this governmental organizations' flagrant disregard of public concern regarding this issue. I expect a deluge of opposition and a further degradation of the FDA's already tarnished reputation. All polls clearly show a majority of Americans harbor serious concerns about this form of "farming". It is the height of conceit to not require labeling of cloned animals in our food chain. As this is very new technology, you'll have to pardon my grave concern about the possible long-term effects on consumption. That the FDA would deny me my right to make this decision myself is reprehensible. And...oh, by the way...you totally blew it on genetically-modified foods too. The havoc that will eventually ensue from that debacle should earn the FDA a black eye that they will wear for all time. Thanks for nothing. Sincerely, Sharon Hite.
