| I strongly oppose the use of non-ambulatory (downed) cattle in animal feed and hope that the FDA will NOT ammend the current regulations banning downed animals from the food supply (for humans OR animals). Allowing downed animals to be rendered for animal feed could lead to health issues for the animals eating this "food." The farming industries should instead be encouraged to take better care of their animals to avoid animals that are so sick and stressed that they become non-ambulatory. Improved care and handling sould also be given to these animals during transport.
I hope that the FDA will do the right thing and put animal welfare concerns ahead of the greedy economic interests of the farming industries.
