Issue Areas/Comments
I am opposed to allowing downed animals to be used as any sort of food, whether for humans or other livestock. Any allowance of downed animal meat encourages farmers to ship sick/injured animals, and encourages truck drivers to ignore the animals' suffering and deliver them sick or injured to the stockyards and slaughterhouses. The only way to put an end to downers is to eliminate the monetary value attached to them by banning them from the slaughter system altogether. Thank you for your consideration.
