| As a pediatric nurse practitioner in an acute care hospital, I see many children each year with asthma. Albuterol is the number one rescue or quick reliever medicine that must be readily available to these children. I see children from many different socioeconomic groups and eliminating generic albuterol would affect all of them in some way. Insurances are continually limiting their formularies and this the choices families have. Also a nongeneric drug would have a much higher copay, which would greatly impact our families whose children take multiple asthma medications. Please take these comments into consideration before making any changes with albuterol. Thank you very much.
