Comments for FDA General
1. General Comments You know...I absolutely despise the media, for the most part, for presenting unsubstantiated dietary supplement claims. This reminds me of a book called The Next Trillion; specifically about the power of pharmaceutical companies. How they produce medications to only alleviate the symptoms and not cure the illness to stay in business. The comps they give to medical proffessionals to push their product. To them it's ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. Now, my metaphor: It's not the gun that kills, it's the person. Get my point? Sure there may be adverse reactions to SOME people, BUT what about all these commercials on television about prescription drugs that speak 100mph(you know the small print) about death possibly being a symptom. I personally have been taking an ephedra containing product off and on for more than 8 years with absolutely no side-effects with the exception of dehydration; I attribute that to the lack of research and education during my adolescent years. What's the difference with pseudophedrine OTC? Also, how many people know NOT to take products containing eph. and pseudophedrine together. I truly believe in fully educating my customers about ANYTHING they may purchase; that means telling the WHOLE truth, not just part of it! Please feel free to contact me on this matter.-Cliff Lopez, GM, Fitness Essentials,Inc.
