Comments for FDA General
1. General Comments I am really not impressed with the manner in which the fda's website is handling the issue of genetically altered food. From reading the information from this site and from articles written by scientist alike it seems to me the FDA and the biotech, drug and agri businesses are in the same boat or BUDDY'S so to speak. You have neglected to inform the public properly on this matter through media, print, or other manners. It seems that these types of foods have been on our the american populations grocery shelves for some time....were you the FDA going to spring it on us all at once or just wait until someone becomes ill or dies to inform us of the cons or pros of these bio-engineered products? I myself along with many others are getting tired of the secretive nature of our goverment agencies!!! It is pretty pathetic....I plan on submitting information to oppose BIOTECH..genetically altered foods to every newpaper in my area. You should make it mandetory that EVERY...EVERY product that has been altered to have STRICT LABELING that informs the public of these genetic mutations. Let US start to make the decisions...on biotech or NO biotech. By the way, when do you predict the these biotech companies will start to fill our foods with unwanted drugs and sterroids like USDA does? THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HANDELING FOOD ISSUES WITH CARE> CONCERNED CONSUMER RHONDA MANKIN JOHNSTON CITY, ILLINOIS USA
