Comments for FDA General
1. General Comments Dear FDA Rep, My family and I are totally supportive of labeling GMO's. Please consider restricting GMO's period and for those foods that are allowed please require that these foods be totally labeled. If the FDA does not do this I am sure that eventually congress will do it for you. I intend to petition my congress persons on this matter. GMOS cannot be isolated in agriculture because bee's will spread these modified organisms to natural plants that are now grown organically. If we do not stop the use of GMOS all of the food will soon be contaminated simply by natural processes of bee pollination. It is obvious that the use of GMO's is shere ignorance of natures ways. Science can be great but it is clearly being misued for reasons of greed. Already monarch butterflys have been affected, already people have had allergic reactions and this know doubt is only the beginning. Please consider these concerns from a normal citizen of this great country. Also my family would like to see the BSE problem in cattle from spreading to the United States by preventing the use of all animal protien intended for herbivores such as cattle. We believe that the FDA should know that it will soon spread here unless we stop the use of all animal renderings from going into the feed of animals here.It actually has occurred here in the U.S., two individuals in Stockton California died from Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease. The process itself is clearly against nature and obiviously politically and monetarily based from the very start. The average farmer I am sure never thought about whether the protein they were feeding their animals came from plant or animals. I am sure most of the cattle ranchers thought it was plant protein and not central nervous systems etc., from other cattle, sheep,& pets. We need to stop the use of all animal proteins as dietary supplements before it is too late. Even experts on the MacNeil-Lehrer report are confused, saying that BSE cannot get into cosmetics etc because of the way those products are processed. Processing does not make a difference, heat does not kill it, because it is not alive, it is a protein prion that cattle and humans are reacting to, it is not alive,it is not deactivated by processing. Please show some guts and respond to these two issues before we have major problems here in the US. Thank you Robert Diller 800 Lagunita Dr. Soquel, California 95073
