Comments for FDA General
1. General Comments Access to long acting opiates and using them as directed by my physician who has training as a Pain Management Physician has given me back a quality of life that I would not have otherwise had. I am a 35 year old wife and mother of an 8 year old boy who has Tourette's Syndrome and ADHD. My 12 year old daughter has ADHD. My painful spinal condition and Fusion surgery that I had 2 years ago had limited my ability to actively participate in the needs of my kids. With opiate medications, I am able to work 25-30 hours a week, help my children with their schoolwork, and give my Special-Needs son the extra attention and patient tender caring attitude that a person with chronic intractible unremitting pain is unable to give. Without this medication not only would I suffer needlessly, the lives of my children would be forever changed for the worse. Please do what ever is necessary to prevent abuse of these medications and stop them from ending up in the hands of curious teenagers. I will gladly do my part and follow whatever strict dispensing policies and support the use of data bases tracking the preswcribing of these medications. Please, encourage Dr's to not fear using them for patients such as myself, because untreated pain is a travesty. Sincerely, Alison Morano
