Background

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA or Agency) plays a critical role in protecting the United States from threats such as emerging infectious diseases, including monkeypox . The FDA is committed to providing timely guidance to support response efforts to this public health emergency.

The guidance, Policy for Monkeypox Tests to Address the Public Health Emergency, includes policies specific to this public health emergency.

The FDA hosted a webinar on September 14, 2022, to discuss highlights of and answer questions about the final guidance. The presentation, printable slides, and transcript from that webinar are available at CDRH Learn under "Specialty Technical Topics", sub-section "Public Health Emergencies."
