I have met with investigators Jessia Nanini and Laurissa Flowers in the last two weeks to discuss the investigation regarding a Holstein cow sent from our farm to New Holland Sales Stables. The cow (b) (4) was treated with NEOSAL on our farm for scours and was sent to slaughter before the withdrawal period had elapsed.

NEOSAL is an over the counter, neomycin sulfate liquid oral treatment for scours in cattle. Because NEOSAL is an over the counter product, we failed to maintain the records and other due diligence that is normally associated with treatment of our cattle using prescription medicines. We did not contact our veterinarian, (b) (4), prior to this treatment because this product is over the counter and commonly available in farm supply stores.

After meeting with the investigators we have provided a deposed affidavit detailing this violation. We have already begun taking precautions to ensure nothing like this happens in the future; as we are now aware of the necessary administration of NEOSAL and other over the counter products which have prolonged withdrawal times. Likewise we have included similar over the counter products in our treatment records for cattle, which previously only detailed prescription medicines.

If there is anything further we can do to remain in compliance with the standards and policies of the Food and Drug Administration please let us know.

Sincerely,
/S/
