BACKGROUND
The FDA and PDS have expressed a willingness to leverage their combined strengths for the joint development of a symposium. This FDA-PDS Symposium will bring together leaders in oncology treatment and research & development from academia, government, and industry to identify new ways for patient-level data from clinical trials and the healthcare delivery system to advance cancer research. The symposium will address accelerating cancer research through broad sharing of patient-level data.

Goals and Objectives
- To provide a forum for open discussion between leaders in oncology treatment and research & development from academic, government, and industry.
- To identify additional uses for patient-level data that may help accelerate cancer research through new applications of patient-level "big data."
- To discuss relevant projects under FDA’s Information Exchange and Data Transformation (INFORMED) Initiative.
Who Should Attend
Senior oncology researchers, clinicians, and executives from academia, government, and industry will be invited to attend the FDA-PDS Symposium.
