Christine M. Smith, Senior Advisor to the Acting Commissioner for Partnerships and Policy

Christine M. Smith has served as the special assistant to the deputy associate commissioner for regulatory affairs and more recently the Acting Assistant Commissioner for Partnerships and Policy for the Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA) within the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).  She joined FDA in 1992 as a chemist in the Baltimore District Laboratory. She moved on to become an investigator in the Baltimore District, and then a supervisory investigator. She served as the director of the Investigations Branch there from 2006-2012. During her career she has also served as the new hire training coordinator for ORA and as a branch director in the Center for Tobacco Products, Office of Compliance and Enforcement. Ms. Smith has a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
