Marla Hendriksson, Deputy Director for the Office of Partnerships and Operational Policy (OPOP)
Marla Hendriksson is the Deputy Director for the Office of Partnerships and Operational Policy (OPOP) within the Office of Regulatory Affairs in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In this role, she serves as the alter ego to the Assistant Commissioner for Partnerships and Policy who advises the Associate Commissioner for Regulatory Affairs on the full range of ORA’s activities including partnerships, implementation of new laws and regulations, and overall strategic direction, planning and prioritization.
Ms. Hendriksson previously served as the Associate Administrator for Communications and Public Affairs at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). She also served as the Director of Communications for the Program Support Center. Prior to joining HHS, she served in leadership positions at the US Environmental Protection Agency, most notably as the Associate Director and Acting Deputy Director for the Office of Environmental Justice, Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance.
Ms. Hendriksson holds a Masters degree in Public Management, with majors in Environmental Policy and Public Sector Financial Management. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Environmental Science and Agricultural Economics and Natural Resources Management. She received both degrees from the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland.
